Bearded Tits, Hyde Park plus Regents Park

Mid January Jess and I spent the day in London going around Hyde park for the 2 showy female Bearded tits and then later that day onto regents park to get up close to the grey herons. We arrived late morning and straight away were treated to views of both birds in the reeds near the princess Diana memorial. To be honest they didn't show all that well and the wind really didn't help as they stayed in amongst the reeds and rarely ventured out onto the edges therefore we went to the cafe nearby and both had a coffee and a sandwich each! 15 quid later we were finished and had another quick look at the beardies but they still wasn't playing ball!
Moving on we went to regents park basically just to quickly photograph the grey herons, as usual unbelievably tame. A few ring necked Parakeets whizzed around making a racket and we then took a slow drive back home. Me being a little bit disappointed to day the least!
